How does one come to the point where they go from the Military, finance, kids, dogs, and a busy life to deciding its time to add a small homestead and begin raising chickens?

Living in South MS, chickens are pretty common and I grew up around them. There's nothing like fresh eggs, fresh meat, and heck even just the sound and temperament of chickens living on the homestead. There's something about the early morning sounds, the excitement they show when you walk out to feed them, and the interest they seemingly show to everything. The unique demeanor, egg producing, beauty is an intriguing thing and its certainly addicting.
Now fast forward to the idea that we could provide quality products, a personal touch, and a good handshake to Jones County and surrounding areas. "It hit me in a dream". Or something like that. The idea actually started much smaller and now I am not sure when it will stop growing. As I continue to build and find beauty in other animals, other homestead topics, and the experience of dealing with customers face to face, the homestead will continue to expand I have no doubts.

This idea is more than a site or store (I wouldn't even think of it as a store or business), its more than a place to buy something. Its more of a familiar place to connect on a common passion. I want to reach a point where customers can tell me what they need and if we don't have it here, we will hopefully connect them to other locals that have what they are wanting or needing.
We not only want to thrive, we want to assist other locals in thriving in their endeavors.
Anyway, the adventure begins. I'm sure we will see you around. God Bless.
